In the steel-making process, the erosion of furnace lining refractory brick, decarburized layer and reaction layer brick structure change causes relaxation occurs. By the molten steel, slag, furnace gas and adding molten iron and scrap steel adding bulk material, the mechanical erosion, making the refractory brick shedding and involved in the formation of molten steel, non metallic inclusion. There is a great difference between the performance of non metallic inclusions in steel and the steel itself. Analysis from the angle of mechanics, the existence of parts of non-metallic inclusions is the stress concentration point steel, have a great impact on the steel strength, stiffness and endurance limit of mechanical properties. Therefore, non metallic inclusion is one of the serious defects affect the quality of steel.
Between the elements of refractories and molten steel nonmetal elements produced by the reaction of non metallic inclusions
The formation of some elements of refractory material, directly dissolved into the steel water, makes the molten pool oxygen, carbon and other non metals increased. Under certain conditions, between the molten steel nonmetallic element interaction generates non metallic inclusions. Similarly also has adverse effects on the quality of molten steel and rolled steel.
